Our Story

Gemini Farms Education Services was created from a deep belief that children learn best through meaningful experiences, strong relationships, and connection to the natural world.

After more than eleven years working in education as both a classroom teacher and literacy leader across multiple campuses, the founder felt called to create a different kind of learning environment — one that balanced research-based academic instruction with the calm, curiosity, and hands-on discovery that outdoor learning provides.

As she began planning to homeschool her own daughter, she envisioned building a space that could grow alongside her family — a place where her children, and others in the community, could experience rich academic support while also enjoying the freedom, responsibility, and joy that nature-based learning offers. With her husband’s support and the presence of a young son also growing into this environment, Gemini Farms reflects both a professional mission and a deeply personal one.

With a Master’s degree in Reading and a student-centered philosophy, she believes that literacy is a right for every child and that learning should be responsive to individual needs, interests, and developmental pace. Rather than relying on a single instructional approach, teaching at Gemini Farms draws from a range of research-informed practices to support children as whole learners.

At Gemini Farms, students are exposed to a rich variety of texts, experiences, and opportunities to express their ideas. Reading, writing, nature exploration, project-based learning, and real-life skill building are intentionally woven together to help children grow in confidence, independence, and academic ability.

The mixed-age environment encourages mentorship, collaboration, and leadership, while the small-group setting allows for thoughtful guidance and meaningful connection. Through time spent outdoors in gardens, open spaces, and farm-inspired environments, children are able to regulate their bodies, engage their senses, and develop a lasting relationship with learning.

Gemini Farms is designed to be a peaceful, intentional space where families can feel supported in their homeschool journey and where children can build both strong academic foundations and joyful childhood memories.
